Zone Alarm affecting web site
I think ZA3.118 is affecting Andale a website my wife uses for her ebay auctions. When she clicks on java buttons we get an error on page and ZA says privacy settings have blocked...
I have went into privacy and turned off privacy on andale, i have set up andale as a trusted site in ie6, i have tried multiple settings in zone alarm and it just doesnt work. Now when she goes to andale from her favs it doesnt give her a box for typing in user name, just the password only box. I have deleted cookies, set them to every time i visit the site, deleted files in IE6. Running NAV & XP also. What gives? TIA Greg |

Try disabling Zone Alarm, then access the site. If that works; then you probably need to create a filter rule to alow access through that site.

Tried shutting it down but it still was happening. Shut down NAV then deleted files, cookies and history and it works. What in NAV is causing this?
Thanks Inman |

You have Norton Internet Security running too or just the AV?

Thanks for replying GLC. I didnt think I was going to here from anyone else. I turned off script blocking in NAV, deleted cookies, files etc and it still happens. I have noticed that after shutting down both NAV and Zone Alarm the problem disappears but sometimes not immediately and it will start working sometimes with either of ZAP or NAV shut down.
In other words, today I tried shutting down ZAP, deleted files/cookies and the web site works with NAV running. My post from 9/24 I shut down NAV and it started working. Maybe its not related to either of the 2 programs and has to do with deleting files, cookies and settings??? But sometimes even doing this 3-4 times with both progs running still will not make the site work. The site help is pretty bad as they dont have a solution that works permanently, they say just to delete all files/cookies/settings. |

Zone Alarm's web filtering is buggy at best, I see it all the time with our customers too at work.
Honestly? If you want to filter websites, ditch IE and get a proper browser (Mozilla, Firebird, Opera, etc.). If you must use IE, don't use external web filters, just set IE's options to disable that which you don't want. |
