ZipZoomFly?

Have you guys cruised to Googlegear.com lately? Evidently the redirect link message indicates that Google may have had some problem with their site name. Anyway the new site, formerly known as GoogleGear is now ZipZoomFly.com! Ain't that a hoot?

They changed their name to reflect the change in their company mission. From what I understand, they picked Googlegear because they wanted to sell a variety of products. However, they ended up selling PC parts. They decided to switch to zipzoomfly. This reflects their fast order processing or how fast new PC products go out. I am not sure. I kinda skimmed thru the pop-up when I bought my monitor from them 2 weeks ago.

I clicked on a link to ZipZoomFly posted on PCMech. When the page opened I knew I recognozed the layout. It took me a few minutes to figure out it was Googlegear! But, I'm not as sharp as I used to be.

I had a problem with my password the other day and when I clicked thru for them to send me a password, it took three days for them to get it to me. NOT EXACTLY "ZIP, ZOOM, FLY"

The real story on the name change is losing a legal case with Google.com. Google sued to get them to drop the name. Apparenly, Googlegear tried to get Google to link to them when they first started in business. Kind of a "here we are, using your name. Send us some business, ok?" Not very smart. The new name is goofier than Googlegear, but I like their service. Just got 2 orders this week. Ordered Mon am and had my stuff Thurs. Calif to Mi, UPS 2nd day FREE. Works for me, but the ZZF name makes me cringe!

Beware of their service department!! Total nightmare. I was sent a defective video card, I got an RMA and sent it back for replacement. I got no replies to my emails to service dept., so after many, many long distance phone calls, cross country at my expense, I finally got my card replaced. Service people were not helpful. Finally got a supervisor on the phone, and he sent out my card, 5 weeks later.
