Huh

I found only one of the Hosts files that had an extension,
Hosts.sbs.sig
It said it was for spyboy search and destroy.

I changed the name to Hosts.old and I still had the problem. I guess I'll keep looking...

try going into your options and choosing show all hidden files... see if that helps..

It's the ones with NO extension (just HOSTS) that you want to rename to hosts.old.

My wife had the same problem...By changing the name of the ones with no extension ..it worked perfect.
As always i find the answer to my problems.

I found part of it!

I can get to google and Hotbot and all now. One of the hosts files being re named allowed it. It was listed as a Hosts file for Windows Help. I changed it to Hosts.old and bingo! Now I just need to get the address bar to work as a search tool.....

hmm i did the host rename and the search for qhost wich found the qhost and deleted it but now i get this

All is well!

Everything works as before now. I am glad that is handled. But I'd like to find out where that came in and how, but more importantly who.....
