yahoo problem

my computer is currently on a network in my school. The problem is I cannot search for anything using Yahoo. Whenever I do, it just goes to the familiar white page saying it could not find the address. How do I fix this?

If you are using Windows XP, flush your DNS cache. Open a command prompt -

ipconfig /flushdns

It has to be a DNS caching issue.

Host name: www.google.akadns.net
IP address: 216.239.39.99
Alias(es): www.google.com

Host name: www.yahoo.akadns.net
IP address: 216.109.118.65
Alias(es): www.yahoo.com

Try to get to one of them using the IP address in the navigation bar of your browser. If it works then it definately a DNS prob in your PC...

What a weird coincedence!!

I was loggin onto the forum to post the exact same problem!

Im also runnin on XP pro .

I cannot log onto google.com but images.google.com works

I can log onto yahoo.com but the search ends with the same screen i get when trying to get to google.com

a white screen saying

Quote:

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
but when i put in the google IP address: 216.239.39.99, the page works great and i can search!

Do it *AGAIN*. You did hit Enter after typing that, right?
