Pagers, cell phones, wireless modems. When everything goes wireless, what if a meteorite, sun spots, or the Rooskies get trigger happy? What if ET decides to phone home and jams the satellites? Wouldn't be hard to shut down earth.

The only exception to your list would be the meteorite. If a big enough one hit, I don't think it would make any difference what kind of connection we have. We would all be toast.
