Outlook Express not connecting
I'm using Outlook Express 6 and recently it's stopped connecting.
I've checked all the settings and they seem fine. If I connect to the Net first and then check Email it works fine but if I open OE it says it cannot find the mail server. I then click 'hide' and click 'send/receive' and get the same message instead of the dial-up box. What's going on? TIA |

Yes but it doesn't seem to matter which option I set it to - it still won't connect!

I've had something very simular a couple of time before. Deleting and rebuilding the account worked for me. You can also test you account before deleting it by simply adding a second, identical account, then disabling the first (default) account from checking for email. If the second account gets email OK, then delete the first. Make sure you write down every and all settings because if you don't build the account right, you'll never get email

The easiest way is just set OE to use any available connection and dial up manually first. Drop a shortcut to your dialup on the quicklaunch bar. Using autodial invites connections when you don't want them - the dialer will kick in if anything on the computer wants access.
