Woohoo! I just ran it 5 times, and my average was a truly pitiful 12.8 Kbps. That included a 3.7 and a 5.1. I told you guys my phone lines are a mess.

My highest was like 74.6 kilobits per second...LOL...not really acurate since I have a 56k modem on a dialup connection. Then it average around 48.6kbps/6k bytes/s not bad considering the highest dialup speed I can obtain is 49,333bps...with 48,000bps being the average. Looks like all that modem tweaking paid off, plus I got win2k running this and download speeds are faster in win2k than 98 anyway. So, yippee

First attempt
Your line speed: 626.7 Kbps 76.8 K bytes/sec Second attempt Your line speed: 415.9 Kbps 51 K bytes/sec I don't think that is very accurate. (Could be the way the call is routed of course) |

I noticed that too, especially the first time you click on the link (one time it said my speed was 6800!). Clicking on the refresh button results in large changes in speed-- in my case from to 423 to 987. Why the differences?

It seems really screwed up at times..
Check out http://www.toast.net and click performance tests from the menu. Has been one of the more accurate ones |

Not very accurate. Here's a T-1 at work.
Your line speed: 30.1 Kbps 3.7 K bytes/sec I got better than that on my 32k dial up at home.

My T-1 connection at work is ranging from 431 to 1567. The numbers are all over the place (with tests run just seconds apart). Looks like this site isn't much help at all.
The Toast.net is providing me with consistent numbers (around 1200). |

Hey Gintaras,
Doesn't surprise me we got the similar speeds. I'm using windows 2000 too and get my connection of my dad's comp's modem over ICS which is a Diamond Supra Express as well. The Diamond, although ISA, is still a great modem, works well for gaming too. |
