Your friend may have accidentally had something pressing down on the CTL key while browsing with a wheel mouse.

Have your friend press down on the CTL key while moving the wheel on the mouse = the fonts should get bigger or smaller - then just adjust to their preference.

if no wheel mouse involved: check in on Internet Options/Fonts to see if anything is changed in there. If fonts misbehave throughout all Windows programs - post again: that's a horse of a different color.

[sometimes, if the fonts change for no obvious reason, a full-system antivirus/spyware scan will catch a bug/spy or two]

[...another thing to check: in the IE toolbar menu for "View" go to "Text Size" and see if it's set to the default "Medium" or has been changed to "Largest"]

Large Fonts in IE

I have now seen this situation on three seperate pc's at three different locations. The solution of the control key and the mouse did adjust the fonts but that did not solve the problem. Anti virus, spyware, and registry cleaners have no positive effect. When attempting to browse some of the selected web pages that are known good pages the font appears VERY Large and the page is un usable.

This has something to do with the user profile as it does not occur for all users on the same PC. I suspect it is in the temporary internet files for this user profile. Clearing things in internet options does not affect the problem. Any ideas as to what the solution is for this problem.

Thanks Don
