outlook
Everytime I try to send an email
I have to hit send and receive first then send it or it is immediately bounced back with the following message " 553 sorry, that domain isn't allowed to be relayed thru this MTA (#5.7.1) ". I am using outlook (windows xp, office xp pro and norton av) Thanks!! DR

It's always been like that. This is a new computer, but the old one was the same way. It's no big deal, I usually remember to do a send & receive. It can be a little frustrating if I do forget. I have to do a s&r then go to the sent folder and resend it.

What's your location? I did a search on " 553 sorry, that domain isn't allowed to be relayed thru this MTA (#5.7.1) " and all the hits seem to be in a non-English language...

I didn't even think of searching for that error msg. Here is a german response translated to english. I think it may explain it. Sounds like it's suppose to be that way??? Funny thing is other computers in this house that use the same isp and account don't seem to have that problem.
Some smtp servers use before SMTP"procedures for safety reasons the" POP. It is necessary to log in first over the POP server in order to be able to dispatch the Mails over the smtp server. Error messages how 553 Sorry, that domain allowed ton isn't relayed thru this MTA (# 5,7,1) 554 Sorry, Domain that isn't in my cunning OF allowed rcpthosts (# 5,7,1) point on it, you server this procedure used. everything clearly? I'm not having much luck finding anything on it... the closest I've found so far is only remotely related:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;262975 but at least it's in English! edit: I gotta learn to type faster!! You post snuck in before mine! LOL - Ya, yours is as clear as mud!

It sounds to me like you need to enable SMTP authentication. More and more ISP's are requiring this to prevent spammers from relaying through their servers.
http://mkruse.netexpress.net/support...ient=OutlookXP Your ISP's setup should be similar. |
