Question about 'Block Sender' feature in Hotmail

I was wondering, if I add someone on my 'Block Sender' list in hotmail, will they know that their messages are being blocked?
I'm not talking about SPAM. I'd like to know if a particular individual who sends the email will receive a message telling them that they have been blocked.

Thanks

Send a message via MSN to Hi Ho
It won't give a reason. It will just say it could not deliver the message. The same kind of thing you get when a server is down.

I am not sure about mail feature, but in MSN Messenger, there are tools to find if you are blocked by another person. I am guessing that this applies to mail also because messenger and mail act interactively...

that person could send another mail using another account, if no mails are getting replied back. he may use a trick like sending an image with img tag,and log the traffic to see if you check. its easy to trick you though, if they know, with some personal subjects.

Block person in hotmail-limit 250 emails only. That was the last time I used it. Had to empyt the block folders and filter my email. The only thing is that hotmail does not have a filter that can block senders witht he same email address eg: if my email is aa@hotmail.com. It does not block aa@whatever.com

Avoiding Email From A Given Sender

Hi,

I don't think you mention which mail client you are using to read Hotmail (or perhaps using the web interface?)

If you are using, say, OE, then you could set up a filter to direct any email from that sender to your deleted items box.

That way their email is delivered and they don't get a bounce message, and you never see it.

HTH,

David.
