Question

I have a netopia 7100 router and a quake 3 server hooked up to it. My connection is 1.0 mbps sdsl. I notice when there are a lot of people on it like over 6 I see the collision light blinking on and off a red color, is this bad what does it mean? How many people can I have on my server with that kind of connection? I have there rate capped at 8000.

Collisions are normal. The more machines you have on a segment, the more collisions you'll see.

I'm not familiar with that particular router, but if the red light indicates collisions, then don't worry about it unless you notice a decrease in performance.
