Run Time Errors in IE6
I recently started getting run time errors in IE6 when I click on any link within a web page. The error message that comes up is "Javaccript Window is null or not an object. I have never seen this before. Has anyone any ideas on how to fix the problem.
Thanks |

It is not something that you can fix since the error is a Javascript error in the page not on your browser. Make sure that you disable script debugging in IE and all you will see is a error in the bottom left corner.

The error is not in the page as it happens on lots of pages that I look at when using other computers. Any more ideas?
Thanks |

The error is in the page code. In IE, Go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and Check Disable Script Debugging and Uncheck Display a Notification about every script error. Javascript is a client side programming language that is processed by your browser so you can't control it. When you see the Javascript Window is null or not an object, what it usually means is that an object that doesn't exist was called. Again it is nothing that you can control but you can turn off script debugging in IE.

I have turned off script debugging etc and all that stops is the error message coming up. Links creating new windows still not do. A new window is created but nothing loads and the contents are blank - colour depending on the previous screen. The window just crashes as such. I know a bit of javascript and understand what you are saying but it is happening on all sites with links creating new windows. If the link loads within the current window it is fine. Therefore I feel that it is a problem with IE6 handling the javascript command and not the websites. Thanks for your replies so far. Any othre ideas??

Try Re-Installing the browser.
