Internet Explorer won't open.
Hi there everyone,
Here's the problem I'm helping someone with now. My friend has Windows 2000 and is using two accounts (Administrator and a user account). Today, she called me with this problem. When she tried to get her yahoo mail, she got an error that Yahoo Mail couldn't send the command (link). When she clicked OK, it closed. She tried to open Internet Explorer, and the hourglass flashed, but nothing happened. This was on her user account. The Administrator account had the same problem.
I had her log into the administrator account, and run the Internet connection wizard. From then on, she could get into Internet Explorer on the Admin account, but not the user account. We checked security, and the user account had Read/Execute and Read for security levels.
I had her reinstall Internet Explorer, as it didn't appear in her Add/Remove Programs (she has 6.0 SP1). Then, I had her do a virus scan (no viruses) and run SpyBot Search & Destroy. it cleaned off 297 files.
I'm at a loss as to what she needs to do.. I know it's probably something simple, but I can't remember if I've read it somewhere or what. Thanks in advance for any information..
Patrick.
