Can't Access AOL Site
Begining a few days ago I wansn't able to access www.aol.com. I can get to http://www.aol.com/support/ but I can't go in my webmail. Everyone else can see aol.com so I don;t know what could be wrong. I tried flushing the DNS but that din't work.

Check your hosts file and the proxy settings in IE.

Search for hosts with NO extension - open it in notepad and make sure there is nothing in it except localhost - 127.0.0.1
Internet Options - Connections - LAN settings - uncheck all 3 boxes. |

the host file has some writing, but they are comments. it shows like this:
127.0.0.1 localhost should it be localhost - 127.0.0.1 and all 3 boxes are unchecked |

Try a different browser (Opera, Mozilla, Firebird) as a test to see if it's an IE issue or a system issue.

I had the same problem recently. My mailbox had been hacked and someone was using it as a source for sending spam. Had to call aol tech support number and they had all boxes on that account locked out. They gave me the locked password so I could get back in and change all the passwords. Maybe you've got the same problem?

hmmmm. I don't have AOL at all on this computer, I just use the webmail. but my sister does have it and said she can't get on using the software on her computer and she's already had us locked out like that twice.
I'll see whats up.
