Hey guys - its been awhile...been kind of busy here.
Anyway, I have a problem I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for. I am not able to access IE as I just get a "Cannot find server" page. If I check properties I get: res://C:\WINNT\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.google.com However my email works fine. I'm thinking that during an easycleaner, spybot or adaware scan something got changed or deleted in the process. Just not sure what or exactly when. Been a few days and it automatically scans daily. I did try a reinstall of IE (over the top of the existing IE) with no avail. Machine with problem is in sig. 2003 Norton AV in use with latest updates. Thanks for any ideas.

When I have had that prob I was advised to clear history (in internet options in control panel), it stopped it.
Hope it works |

Try another browser such as Firebird to see if it's an IE issue or a Windows issue. I fought 2 systems yesterday (one XPee Home and one Win2k, both on a Linksys router and running IE6SP1) with similar problems and Firebird works like a champ, IE takes 5 minutes to open a page.

Ah, yep narrowed to IE which I thought was the case since my email worked. Forgot I already had Netscape installed back when I was troubleshooting a friend's computer some time back. And it works fine.
So, any ideas on an IE 6.0 fix? I know some prefer other browsers but I still come back to IE as my preferred browser. I'm going to check out the reg and see what I can find there. Thanks. |

I got a clue today - it *might* be Norton's script blocking, check that possibility out.
