How to scan emails
i have a friend who uses some email service ive never heard of, but she is getting an uncontrollable amount of spam email, and as far as i know her email service does not provide a way to block it. Is there a program out there that is free, easy to use (shes not a comp genius) and that works effectively, that will somehow block or filter her emails, she says theres only like 5 emails out of every 300 she actually wants.

What email service does she use? Does she use the web based email browser or does she use pop3 email software that just downloads from the email service? Sorry but I don't have an answer to your problem but I think this info would be needed by someone who does. If the amount of spam she gets is that bad she could consider switching to a new address and forwarding her new address to those she wants to get email from.

My reply is too late for her, but it may help someone else.
You have to be a very trusted individual to get my email address. I have two hotmail accounts and a account at email.com that I give for my email address. Those get flooded with spam and I browse thru them quickly deleteing most. My email account with my ISP that opens with OE gets very little spam. It contains correspondence from trusted friends and companies that have a legimate need for a ISP email address. Rest get one of the hotmail ids. Chas

my wife went on some greeting card thing to send cards to grandkids and suddenly began to get spam by the dozens(mostly porn)she finally changed her email add.and is much more careful about what she clicks on now.we didn't try a spam blocker, that might work,it was just easier to change addresses. i also have a seperate account for email other than trusted people.
