Outlook blocks .exe file attachments
I recently switched from Outlook Express to Outlook. However I am running into a file attachment problem that I need help.
When someone sends me a .exe file as an attachment, Outlook would block the file and I cannot save nor open the file. I don't have this problem with Outlook Express. Is there a way to change the security level of .exe file in Outlook so that I can receive .exe file as an attachment?

its a security thing to stop a excutiable filr like a virus.
tell them to zip it before sending it, winzip is the most popular one to use and it will send the file faster too. email a exe is a very poor way to send a file. |

hi wsw
when i upgraded to IE 6, it automatically blocked all attachments... maybe yours it the same with an older version , i am not sure but you could check in the options in outlook express it is in tools/options/security and then uncheck the box for not allowing attachments.. hope this helps Dick |

I agree that receiving a .exe file is not a very good idea.
Unfortunately Outlook also block .html links. This is very inconvenient for me. I have Outlook 2002 installed on my computer. |
