I am seeing more and more where the code to a web page is copyrighted. I am not talking about images. I am talking about a statement like this from one website:
What exactly are they copyrighting? |

In some cases, they're copyrighting everything, including code, images, banners, etc., and in other cases they're copyrighting just the code, or just the layout, or just the images. It depends on the site.
In the case you mention, it seems they're copyrighting everything, but most likely, they don't want you to right click, copy and paste any of their code. They probably don't want you linking to that site from any other without written permission as well. I usually ignore the copyright notice, and promptly forget that I was at that page, unless they have some content that I need to remember. |
