If you're running XP Pro, go to Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components, put a check in "Information Internet Services" and click OK.

If it's XP Home, it's not quite so easy. A tutorial can be found here.

IIS, as such cannot be downloaded, it is something that must be installed as a Windows component from CD. This is something you need to be aware of, when buying a used computer - should a component of the operating system need to be installed or reinstalled, you need the OS CD. Components are not available from the net for download.

If you downloaded the Win2k3 trial, then you would be able to use Win2k3 for 180 days from the date of activation.
What sort of "dynamic web pages" are we talking about here? Have you considered seeing if any of these pages would work with freeware HTTP servers?

I figured that if i downloaded the trial version of win2k3 trial version that IIS would be bundled with the software and that I would be able to get IIS. In answer to your question, I am trying to create a local server using coldfusion mx but i do not have IIS. Would it be easier if i used one of the other two options (apache or netscape enterprise server) and am i wrong about IIS being bundled with win2k3.

PS thanks for the help

I am trying to make flash enabled web pages that can access databases and i really do not know of any freeware HTTP servers that would work. I am trying to get IIS because macromedia made it seem like i needed it.
