Outlook Express Problem

All day today I am getting the following error message when trying to access my hotmail account through OE.

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Elaine (Hotmail)', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 12019, Error Number: 0x80004005

Any ideas why this would be??

I can't find an exact way to pin this down, but I get the impression that you may be having an issue with SSL and/or your Passport account - or your security zones. Can you log into your Hotmail from MSN using IE?

Hi

Thanks for the reply. It now seems to be working although I haven't changed anything.

When it was not working I could log into my hotmail account via IE with no problems.

It seemed to last for about 8 hours and then started working. OE kept checking for mail and after this time all my mail was downloaded.

Strange!!
