web password verification
I have about 50 billion web applications, and several of them use logins to verify who the people are. Well everyone is sick of having a million and a half passwords so I need a way to verify their password either against the mail server (Microsoft Exchange) or Active Directory (LDAP?) Mostly I want to know which would be easier and what I would search for when I'm researching online? Any help would be appreciated.

What kind of server environment are you in, a Windows domain, mixed domain, etc? Are these web apps ASP, PHP?
