My son called and said that his internet is strange. Web sites are not updated. He said he goes to weather.com and put in our zip code, but the dates on the five day report starts with feb. 13 2004. Today is the 18th. Several sites he has gone to today are old. He has checked the pc,s clock and date. He has also upgraded to IE 6.0 with no help. If he places the curser on the twin monitors in the taskbar, it shows 115200 connection speed as it always does. Does anyone have any idea's or have you ever heard of this? Thanks.

Try clearing the internet cache.

If that is the same as Temp files, he has done that . If not, how do you do it. I have Norton's cleaner that clean's cache
files I could let him install if necessary. |

Also check if date/time is correct including the time zone. I had a similar problem once after doing a over the top load. It changed my time zone to Pacific from eastern. Chas

In Internet Explorer, click on 'File' and make sure that there is no checkmark beside the 'Work Offline' option.

If he goes to popular places, he may be viewing his ISPs cache

Actually he had deleted the temp, cookies and history before he called me. He had also checked the time, date.
The sites he is talking about, I think is sites he goes to everyday. How do you correct it if he is viewing his ISP cache? I'm going by his house after I come in from work and check this forum for my answers. Maybe with Rick's idea and others, I can get it going for him. Thanks a lot. |

usually you can get a fresh page by clicking Refresh or pressing F5.
If it is the comps cache, you can lower it in Tools. A cable connection can get away with 10MB max and a dialup with 25Mb. I have Cox cable and had a problem with them awhile back caching so much. It seems to have improved tho. GL |

You can also go into Tools, Internet options, TIF, settings, and set Explorer to check for new page "Every time you start IE..."
