one totally free editor is notepad... once you make your page in word, you can edit it notepad and add this to every link:
target="_blank" this should go after the reference link address and before the > so this :a href="http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=90060" target="_blank": this :/a: (replace the :'s with ><'s) would give you this

The problem with using Word 2000 to edit web pages is it bloats the heck out of the code making everything XML. Word 97 is actually not too bad, it generates fairly clean HTML only. Good luck editing the HTML once Word 2000 does its thing, it's pretty rough.
If you want a freeware editor that will also help you learn HTML, look at Arachnophilia. If you want a quick, down and dirty WYSIWYG editor, Netscape/Mozilla Composer does a pretty fair job. |

Yeah...I'm using notepad for my first site. I should just go dl a program that writes out all of the tags for me. One of my friends had an html editor called coffee cup I think..no sure if it's free. You might be able to find something about it on google.
Don't really know about microsoft word though: (. sorry |
