Hosting $2.99 a month!!!.....disappears????

This thread is about its disappearance, more than showing off the hosting price. This thread WILL stick to its disapperance, not advertisement.

Lately, my friend recommended to me a server called DizzyHosting. It has some very nice deals - 2.99 USD for 100 GB, PHP/MySql, the whole nine yards. I recommended it to my dad's company who was paying for InterLand I would put a link up on Dizzyhosting besides the fact that one day...it disappeared. Poof - nothing heard or said. Fortunately, my father's prudent judgement saved a good sum of money.

Does anyone know what happened to DizzyHosting? Has anyone ever had it?

Thanks,
kram

They are like a lot of hosts out there. They sell cheap, get a lot of customers and either become overwhelmed by support or just close up.

Is there any type of legal problems with doing this? The service seemed to be fine and stuff until they're ultimate closedown - has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks,
kram

It's just like any other company going out of business - you are usually left holding the bag. At least with a filed bankruptcy, you can put in your claim, for whatever that's worth.

It's hard for me to see how a company can offer those features for that price and break even, much less make money. I don't know about you, but I work to *make* money, not lose it. If I want to lose money I can do that very easily by sitting on my arse and enjoying myself.

Stick with Interland, they are one of the premier hosts out there.
