fqpissed any1 heard of bdl14026.exe program?

bdl14026.exe -This program is continually popping up for download on my mother's computer. The "Save as" box comes up and she's still able to cancel it, but it happens randomly. I tried searching the web for it but had no luck. Any ideas about this or any other places I can look? I just tried the standard zdnet, cnet, and the web searches thru them.

Thanks

Yes, shes done the Norton AV, and Spybot. I'm not sure if shes tried Bazooka yet tho. I had figured it probably was from some form of spyware.

Thank you

Probably a worm or virus. Some of them tend to use random letters for their .exe file.

Have you looked in your registry? If W2K or XP, then it is:
Start/Run/regedt32
Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS/CURRENT VERSION/RUN

See if any programs are listed to run in the Run field. Nearly all viruses and spyware add their .exe here so that it will run on boot.

Thank you, I'll look for it tonight. If it is there, is it safe to just delete it from the registry?

Yes, just make sure it's the right one.

Restart the computer in "Safe Mode with networking". Open a browser window and go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and click on "Scan Now. It's Free!"

See if that works for you.
