Does anyone understand this? Google buys Dejanews and now you cannot post to it. What's the point of having Dejanews then? I have a whole history of posts with Dejanews like about 10,000 posts and sometimes I have like 20 different posts going at the same time. This was one of my major resouces on the net and this change really hurts. I'm already having withdrawal symtoms and feel like sending a virus or making a death threat to Google.

Sending a virus won't work. Google runs all their stuff of Linux clusters. Who knows, Harry, maybe it is just a temporary thing with Dejanews. I did notice & I don't think that I had seen this before but you can use google to search newsgroups. I did a search earlier & didn't find what I was looking for. Well then I see an option to search newsgroups.

Yeah, you can search through Google but at the moment you can't post to it. It looks like they will allow posting eventually but how long will that be. They should not have made the transfer until the full service was ready.
