Outlook express 6 € problem

When i try to send an email which contains the € sign from my pc at work , i get an error message that this sign is not recognized in the character set or something like this . it gives me 3 options to choose from. (all in dutch, so not easy to translate properly). If i change it to "euro" or so manually , it sends instantly.
the OS is winxp (think pro) with outlook express version 6.00

Ive looked at microsoft and google if i could find anything related, but nothing popped up (i dont really know how to put this properly in a search engine) .
Does anyone know of a fix or an update to get this working?

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
How are you typing the € sign? Whenever I insert it using the Alt+0128 trick, it works fine.

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
The 3 options, that'd be "send as unicode", "send with no change" and "cancel".

I think you have to select "no change" and then it'll be fine.

Around here almost everyone uses azerty keyboards, on these the € sign is on the same button as the letter "E". with alt Gr + e, i get the € sign. It works everywhere, but when i press send in OE6 it gives me that message box.

btw i never heard of that trick you mention, so i tried it, but it gives the same message. I could choose something like "send as unicode" so i did this. when i checked on the yahoo account i sent to i get € instead of the sign

RJ i missed your post when i did the previous reply . i think maybe you posted while i was typing . Seems like i selected the wrong box since it came wrong in my yahoo mail.

I just tried it at my home pc, and it sends without any problems here. This is a win2kpro pc though, but also with OE 6
ill try sending with "no change" box selected when i'm at work again.

thanks for the help.
