Stupid Toolbar!!!

There is a (vertical) toolbar on the side of the screen. that wont go away.

It has an "X" (to close it). under that, a white box that says Ente

you cant see the full box (I guess it says enter search here)

then underneath that is a green button with arrow.

If I widen this bar, it doesn'l reveal the rest of the "boxes". It justs makes a bigger grey margin on the side.

I can close it by presssing "x" but it will come back on every window.

If I go under view - explorer bar, a sub menu comes up and the word serach is "checked" I can uncheck it and the toolbar will go away.

So its some sort of search bar (that I dont need) How do I completely get rid of this?

Is there supposed to be an "explorer bar" in the view menu? here's what it looks like

yes, there is such a thing in IE.

Did you try to close the bar, close IE, and then open IE again?

lol yes, If it was as simple as somthing like that, I wouldn't post here.

Its not a spyware thing either (I dont think) I use spy sweeper.
