Internet Explorer Problem and AdAware
I used AdAware and then rebooted for it to clean the remaining files. After this I try to get on Internet Explorer and it shows a page cannot be displayed error. I can ping servers outside of the local LAN. I try to put in just an IP address in the address bar and it adds a /?%20 to the address and will not go to a web page. Please Help.

Have you tried restoring the items it quarantined?

Try going into Add/Remove programs and click on Internet Explorer. You'll be given a repair option. Let it repair itself.

Sounds like you might have had spyware that messed up the Winsock settings. Here's a link to the LSP fix. This should get you back up and running.
