Question Only X's no Pictures

I'm not sure what's going on with my email's but when I send pictures in a email all that shows up on the receiver's end is X's . Pictures show up in attachements ok. Also on some web pages a lot of the pictures on the web page are X's . Can anyone give me an idea what to look for ?

Running Norton anti virus and Norton Spam filter.

Hi handeeman63, welcome to PcMech!

Woo! Another Okie!
Anyway, as to your problem, what email program are you using? I know if it's Outlook express, you might check this. In the Tools menu select Options and then click the Send tab. There should be a section that says Mail Sending Format. Make sure HTML is checked. Then click the button that says HTML settings and make sure Send Pictures With Messages is checked. If you're using a program other than Outlook Express it probably won't be the same but basically look for something close to that in whatever Options menu your program has. Hope this helps!

Running Outlook Express. The send picture box was not checked . I'll send out a few emails and see if that was the trouble. How about the web pictures showing up x's ?

Are you using Internet Explorer? If so, you might check under Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Somewhere down the list, depending on what version you're using, there should be a box called "Show pictures". Make sure it's checked and click OK.

Not that.. The show picture box is checked. Not all pictures are missing on a web page just a few. Common for the Add To Shopping Cart button to be X'ed out Most of the time it happens on Ebay search pages. Maybe a problem with Ebay ?

What file format are the pictures being sent to ebay? I think I've always used JPG. Haven't listed anything on ebay for over a year so am going from old memory.

I dont have any trouble with the pictures I use on my auctions they are JPG. The trouble is when I open a Ebay web or any web page some of the pictures are x's and some of the Icons on the page are X's not ever thing on the page shows up. Not sure if my Browser or Norton was blocking some of the page out .

Thanks Juppy I think that took care of the Email picture sending problem .

Try getting rid of the Norton spam filter - its popup blocker and ad blocker could be causing the browser issues.

Seems I had two pop up blockers on. I shut one down and seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for the help
