Hi,
Could anyone give any suggestions on how to get a site on the top seven or eight search engines. Also does anyone know of the requirements, if any, for each of these top search engines. Finally, do you guys know of sites from which you can buy 'key words' and if so is this a good idea? Yours Declan (aka fredwest )

check out http://www.webposition.com - pretty cool program (free 30 day trial) that will help you alot. it knows what the engines use for searching, and helps optimise your page - includes a submitter too.
also http://www.addme.com is a painless way to add yourself to 30 sites.. pete |

Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies! I'll give thwm a whirl and see what happens. Xayd, I've been kinda anti-computer lately. I work with PC etc daily and it seems that when I get home the last thing I feel like doing is turning mine ON.....hehehe. The rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated .BTW, Xayd, you still a Netscape 6 fan? I'm using it now at home too. However I do wish it wouldn't crash quite so often...ROFL... Nah, fred, gave up on it. Since going to Win2k pro for my gaming box Netscape 4.x browsers are fine, not as crashy as they are in Win9x (wonder why...).
It's speedy, but still a bit too bloatish for me. Call me weird if ya want but there was nothing wrong with mostly text and gif pages back in the day with Netscape 3.0 Gold. I like my browsers lean and mean, don't care for the eye candy. I was hoping they'd clean NS6 up a bit before the final release and give me the best of both worlds with speed and functionality, but sadly it didn't happen. Xayd |

WB fredwest!
It took nearly 18 months, but I finally hit the #1 spot at Google/Yahoo for my modems page... ![]() Perseverence is the key. I don't think there's ANY service that will "guarantee" a spot, unless they charge WAY too much for it... NS6 is alreay history, not worth the download time. Opera is already gaining a bigger market share than NS/AOL. |

Opera loads a page faster than any other browser. The main problem that it has is that it really hates html errors. Most browsers will ignore those errors but not Opera. It just won't load the page. I have been using Mozilla for Linux. It's a ton better browser than Netscape.

Hi,
Yeah I guess I'm back. I had a bit of a guilt trip in coming back here again after sooooooo long......but I'd just started a new job and was busy trying to get my head around that that I kinda forgot about you guys......SORRY!!! reboot, I'm delighted that your site is no1. Thanks for the welcome back .Well, poor old N6. I even d/led the 6.01 update to see if the very 'clunky' nature of 6 would be ironed out......but it didn't happen. I mailed them with a lidt the lenght of my arm of 'faults' and asked when they would be fixed, why were they there in the first place....... I still use 4.76 daily and still wouldn't touch IE. But I had hoped that 6 would have just blown us all away.....but this has not been the case. I remember watching a National Geographic program on Netscape as they were just about to release N6. One of the guys commented that 'now that AOL bought them out that N6 would be ruined'.....just like most everything else that AOL touches. He re-assured the viewers that this wouldn't be the case. How wrong he was........... It's a pity. OH! I haven't had a chance to try out those links yet but that is my next stage! Yours Declan (aka fredwest )
