Ok , I am using Eudora 5 for email right now and have it to check mail every 5 min, but in order for this to work I have to leave to window open on my desktop. I would like to minimize to system tray if possible and only have the email program running in the background and still notify me when I have mail. Is there anyway to do this using eudora or is there another program that will do this for me?

Hi sc0rched,
I would recommend VMail. It is a little program that sits in your system tray and checks your email at set time intervals and displays the number of emails in the tray as a number. It has many features and I think it is the best of the many similar programs that I have tried. Check it out: http://www.jpsoft.dk/visualmail/ Hope that helps.

scOrched, I use Eudora 3.0 and leave it running but
minimized. When I get mail a small envelope appears on taskbar. I maximize Eudora and there's the mail. Carl |

DrZaius - thanks for the link, i will take a look and let you know how i like the program.
Carlgif - Thats what i am currently doing. I leave it minimized but it still appears in the taskbar. What I want is just to have a little icon that stays in the systray and says when i get new mail. |

ok well i found an email program that will minimize the system tray and check mail every few minutes. Its called "The Bat". I found it at shareware.com. it looks to be a nice program but unfortunately it looks to be a 30 day trial and then you are supposed to register. i dont know what happens if you dont but aside from that this program is exactly what im looking for.

Newmail will open Eudora when you get mail if you want it to.
