fqpissed Links on Internet dont operate.

I've had a problem with the internet for a few months, to begin with the problem was an error message would pop up after about 10mins on the web and then any links on pages I tried to use would not work after working previously.
To cure the problem I would have to shut down my computer and then restart after which I would get another 10 mins.
The problem has now escalated to the stage where I cannot surf the web at all as any page I try to load times out.
I cant remember the error message and as I'm offshore at work I cant check it ou at the moment.

Delete all the temporary Internet files and cookies. Try again after that. Also - download all OS and browser updates and apply them to your machine.

See if that helps.

Thanks for the info Christoph, I'll try that as soon as I get of the rig and get home. I'll let you know how I get on.

Spyware, by clogging your bandwidth phoning home with their data can create the problem you're having.

If you haven't already, download, install, immediately update and then run Spybot and/or AdAware. Read the help files to familiarize yourself with how they work. I recommend you use them both since each tends to find things the other misses. Let them clean up any spyware found.

Then, to be doubly sure, download and run CWShredder.
