emails won't 'Send'

For the past few days every email that I send does not go.
Error msg reads " Can't send-server gives this reason: 550
relaying mail to (name of receiving server for that particular message) is not allowed "
I am using Eudora Pro/roadrunner cable/Zone Alarm/Linksys router, and do not recall changing any settings on anything recently.
Any ideas as to where to start? Thanks.

Might be an issue with your smtp server, your error mentioned relaying, usually means you are trying to use someone else smtp server instead of your own. They don't allow relaying to prevent spamming.

You are quite right Omletteboy. I am using an address with dial up connection to a local ISP that I had before I got the cable 6 weeks ago. Didn't want change email address. Now that I'm on cable the mail is relayed through
the cable to the old ISP which is rejecting it. Just before I came on now to the forum I dialed up the old ISP direct and all the 3 days unsent messages shot on through.
Question is- why did it take 5 weeks for this problem to start. Am going to try to get around this and retain the old address. Thanks.

There's no way Parangles, other than this...

Any decent ISP is gonna block outgoing mail that's sent from IP addresses outside of their pool, so you'll likely be able to receive mail from the old address, just not send through their server. What you might be able to do, if your new ISP allows this, is send your outgoing mail through your new ISP's server with a return email address of your old one.

So the setup would be...

Incoming server---old ISP's pop server
Mail address------old address
Outgoing server---new ISP's smtp server

Give it a try, see if it works.

Thanks Xayd, just got around to this. Phoned up AT&T cable and got a SMTP address from them and changed the 'SMTP server outgoing' under options in the email from the old dial up one to that new cable address. Left the rest as existing.
Test message went through- keeping my fingers crossed.
