DNS Problems
Hi,
I am having some problems connecting to certain websites. Particularly, http://www.grisoft.com and http://www.lavasoft.de When I try to connect to these sites I get an error saying "The page cannot be displayed." However, firends of mine have been able to connect to these sites with no problem. I tried to use a utility called iCheckConnection, from PC Pitstop that would test my connection to a given website. When I run this tool it gives an error saying that DNS is not working properly. I have contacted technical support at my ISP, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Any ideas on what may be causing this? Is there a problem with my PC or is this a problem with my isp? Thanks Ankur |

I should also mention that I am directly connected to my cable modem, so there is no router in between.
Also, my firewall is not blocking the site as I have attempted to connect to the sites with it disabled. Thanks, Ankur |

If you are using Win2K or XP, open a command prompt and type:
ipconfig/flushdns |

Thanks for the reply glc. I ran that command, but there was no change.
Any other suggestions? Thanks, Ankur |
