ok im really pissed. my dad installed this macafee security system thing. and so every time you go to a website this message pops up that says, "this site" would like to send you a cookie. my dad told me to always hit reject for some reason. cause he said usually the sites will let you in if you don't accept. so i went to check my hotmail emails this morning and that message came up. so i hit reject cookie from hotmail. and this messge comes up everytime i try to read my emails.
Your Web browser options are currently set to disable cookies. To use .NET Passport, you must enable cookies. ive tried doing delete all cookies and files and crap. then i did a system restore. and it worked. but then the macafee program my dad installed and payed for, is no longer installed. so i went back to may first again. does anyone know how to get to that web browser. cause my cookies are enabled, but it just won't let me on. any suggestions would be great. thanks |

You said you made McAfee block them all the time, thats whats blocking it, not your browser. Change the settings to allow them. Or even better, put McAfee in the garbage can and get yourself kerio firewall and AVG antivirus.

Are you talking about your browsers security settings or McAfees?

Cookies are not really a bad thing. Many sites require them. Disabling "3rd party" cookies is a good thing, as they come from banner ads and the like. I don't want to get "in the middle" but just curious: is this his computer or yours? If it's yours, maybe you can print out some info on cookies for him and so him it's not a bad thing; and how you can run AdWare and SpyBot to take care of things. I've run cookies since they've been out and never had a problem.

But you told McAfee to block them right? If you did it has nothing to do with your browser, you would need to look in McAfee( I never used it so I dont know where) If is is blocked in IE (I doubt it since I think you would need to type in the adress to do that) you would need to go in tools>interner options>security options>restricted sites>sites

no mcafee just tells me when a site wants to send me a cookie. it doesn't reject the cookie unless i tell it to.
