Exclamation IE help

you know that menu that pops up when u goto like a search window like google. when u type in a search a history menu pops up from under it. how do u get rid of that???

Seriously, I think it's called Autocomplete. There's a setting in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced that says "Use Inline Autocomplete." It might only apply to URLs, though.

Unhappy nope

no it doesn't work. is there something else i can do someone out there should know!!!

also i can't seem to do windows update anymore a weird message comes up it says some kind of .dll thing doesn't work or caused an error please help i think udating my Internet explorer might help

here is the message that comes up...

Iexplore has coused an error in MSHTML.DLL

what does that mean!?!? i can't even get onto micrsoft.com!!!

To turn off the auto complete. Go to Internet options. content, auto complete and turn it off from there. That will stop the drop down menu.

i have windows ME and i tried to get rid of the menu by uninstallling version 6 and using version 5

This menu really bugs you that much? Going back to ie 5 is probably what gave you the problem with mshtml.dll. Internet explorer is tightly integrated with the Windows user interface, I'd try restoring ie 6 from your Windows cd if I were you.

ok im going to re-install IE 6 and ill try wat diver said to do that sounds right.

That's a common error in ME and IE 5.5, you need to upgrade.
