Appreciate some assistance.
Trying to help a gentleman with his computer troubles. XP Home OS He connects with SBC Yahoo DSL, however, the PC is at my home, and need to use dial-up. His SBC connection, of course, does not work, and does not show up in IE. Internet Explorer is nowhere to be seen on the Desktop, and can't seem to find it elsewhere. Tried a Windows Update Internet Pack CD with IE6, but the PC says IE is already installed. Any clues as to how to get IE to show up. Thanks in advance for the help. |

Does he have SP1 installed? That allows users to make IE "disappear" so it can't be used. If so, look around in the Start menu for something called "Set program access and defaults" and make sure that IE is made available.

Went to another XP home machine, burned a copy of IE to a CD, and it worked.
Thanks for the suggestion, anyway. Will check it out. |
