Internet Banking

Hi, I do most of my banking online, and have had no probs until now. My financial institution recently upgraded their security by making it necessary to enter a date of birth via a java applet as the last step in a transaction. When I tried to do this, the dob details wouldnt transfer from the applet to the small window it was supposed to. I since found out that the applet was missing the "enter" and "cancel" buttons. IT at the bank told me to download Microsoft Virtual Machine. (Apparently in Tools-> Internet explorer-> Options -> Advanced, there should be a tickable box "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled". Well, I havent got this box). I went to www.sun.com to look for an appropriate download, but no luck :-( Im running MS XP Pro, with MIE 6....I downloaded Netscape Navigator and solved the problem, but I dont want to have to switch browsers to solve the problem...can anyone please help??

Thanks JLC.......from your link I was able to download Microsoft VM, and this gave me all the correct "tickable boxes" in advanced internet options. However, still didnt bring up the "enter" or "cancel" buttons on the Java Applet........

Looks like you may have to use Netscape to do your banking.
