Page not found

Can someone tell me how to setup a page not found page for my site, which people will be redirected to whenever they request a non existant file/page? I need it because I see a lot of people are trying to get to html versions of my pages, which don't exist since I converted to php. This leaves them stranded, thinking my site is dead.

Hi

If this is your own server you can setup a ".htaccess" file in your serverroot or change settings in httpd.conf

If it's not your own server and hosted elsewhere you can still use .htaccess for your 404s but you'll need to check with your host to see if it's allowed!

Back when I set mine up, I used the info from this site
http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess2.shtml

Works perfectly.

Cheers

Jim
