Importing OE addresses into Thunderbird
I am trying to set up Thunderbird for my dad. I imported his address book from OE and it is all there except for the one "group" in his OE book. That will not import into Thunderbird. It is a rather long list that he wants to keep. How can I easily get that list into Thunderbird?

What format did you export the address book to? If it was CSV (comma-separated values), I don't think it transfers group information. Unfortunately, it seems that CSV is the only way to move addresses from OE to anything else.

Try temporarily installing Eudora. Seems that this is the best intermediate program out there for complicated exports/imports.

I figured it out. It had in fact imported the group but it mixed it in with the other addresses. I moved those into a new group in Thunderbird and all is well. I imported it by clicking Tools>Import>address book>Outlook Express. I'm trying to help him with his spam problem. He gets tons of it. I have applied a bunch of filters so hopefully it will help.
