Angry Fire IE6 taken over?

My IE6 seems to have been taken over some how. I cannot get to any site on the internet. A default address pops up, but always gives a Page Cannot Be Displayed message. I am having to logon at work as I cannot do anything at home. I can't even run things like Windows Update because something stops me from going anywhere. The default address that pops up contains 'orbitexplorer' something. I should have copied the entire thing down, but forgot. I have tried to reinstall IE6, but keep getting an error message that all of the files couldn't be installed and to reboot. Whenever I reboot I get the same message.

Can anyone help or tell me what other information you might need to figure the problem out?

I did use the 'ping' function to make sure I was actually connected to the internet because it seemed like I wasn't.
My internet call waiting gives me an error message that it couldn't open the Port when I log on to the internet also.

Your PC has been taken over by spyware. Download AdAware (www.lavasoft.de) and Spybot: Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) on another computer with an Internet connection that works, and then install and run them on your broken PC. Hopefully, that will fix things.
