Howdy
My son is a hard core gamer, and I want the two of us to build a gaming computer together that will blow his hair back. It's going to be a challenge since neither of us has much experience. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm going to need all the help anyone is willing to offer.

Welcome! To get the best bang for your buck, read through all the sticky threads in the Build Your Own PC forum. Then create a new post there with a brief about how you intend to use this PC and your real expectation about budget.
You guys will have all kinds of fun with this project and you've come to the right place to start.
