I'm just surprised to hear an HP has lasted 10 years.

Does it have a Bestec PSU? If it does, now THAT is the major shocker!

Welcome aboard and go right to the BYOPC forum to get top advice.

Bestec motto: If it lasts, you are shocked. If it doesn't last, it still shocks you.

10 years isn't so old. I have a number of computers in my collection that are 30+ years old that still run.

Hopefully at that old they run a bit slower so you can catch up to them.

Well, what can I say? I do get to work on a lot of HPs and a high number of them just have to be taken out to the dumpster, and the customer is fortunate if the HDD is still functioning and his data can be moved over to a new system. Sure, there are a number of people who never have problems, just like there are a number of people running ECS mobos who have never had a problem either.

@sxw2jdxc: Bestec PSU's tend to, when they die, send a jolt through the whole system, usually taking the mobo down with them.
