I was also impressed with the performance of the i3-2100 in the test by Phoronix. Another interesting twist is the i3-2105 by Intel. It has the 3000 HD graphics. Phoronix has done some more tests of the Linux kernel against the Windows 7 drivers. My feeling is that Phoronix is in too much of a hurry to publish. It would be nice if they waited until the development of the software was at least stable before they ran their test.
