More importantly, these models are selling for significantly less than the identical units with Windows. That's a first. In the past, it was always suspected that Microsoft had applied pressure on manufacturers to not price similarly equipped linux units under their Windows counterparts.
Microsoft appears to have really ticked off their PC manufacturer partners by entering the tablet market with their upcoming Surface models. For the first time, Microsoft has become a direct competitor in the hardware market with likes of Asus and other PC manufacturers. I expect we are seeing the beginning of a trend. |

It would be great if Linux became more mainstream, allowing for better development of Distros. I am tired of M$ Monopoly on the OS market.
