Fedora vs Redhat9

Hi all!! Just wondering if any one is using Fedora. I was using RH9 until I heard the support was stopping this month. They seem to both be just about the same but that is from a die hard Windozzz user. ALSO----> Is any one using Nitix (see below) servers or their software here???????? Pre-Thanks, Scotty

Thers not much difference at all, except one small minor kernel upgrade, and a few package upgrades. (freetype, SDL, so forth) I would go with fedora core 2, but its having some problems, because it cant install drivers for a couple of certain video cards very well (ATI, Nvidia) but they would install, I never tried.)

NOTE: Dont even go with a RedHat Product, because there scared about RIAA or something, so they took even more multimedia apps, and librarys, so its going to be even more difficult to install your favorite video and sound apps, without the help of yum or something.

Yep, I think mp3 support removed starting with version 8.

I stopped playing with Red Hat after version 9. Too much politics with them guys now. Changed to SuSE as my main linux distro. Graet move, I'll never go back.

RH got too bloated for my taste after version 8. I really did enjoy 7.3 though. I've switched to Slack since and I'm really liking that distro. Might even give Gentoo a shot one of these days.

Its great to know that u all are making good desicions and steering away from this... fedora beast, and some redhat distros. But keep this up, and hopefully RedHat Inc. will eventualy get over the fact that no one is going to sue them for dumb reasons, and start back putting Multimeida libraries and apps, back into ther stable dream distro.

It would be nice to see RedHat come back into the fold. They were on top there for quite a while.

I'm kinda messing around with Fedora Core 2 right now. I've never used Red Hat before so I can't compare the two, but I can say I think Fedora leaves something to be desired. Maybe I'm just not used to the whole Linux thing yet either.
