Linux won't detect SATA drive
I have attempted to install Linux Red Hat 9 on my SATA drive, but the only HDDs that it detects during install are my standard EIDE drives. Is there a version of Linux that will detect SATA? I also have copies of SuSe, Mandrake, and Fedora 2.

Is your kernel set up to recognize SATA hard drives?
Here's an article I ran across about SATA drives, may help you out. http://www.linuxmafia.com/faq/Hardware/sata.html

Ok, I just tried to use Mandrake 10 instead, but it won't boot from the CD.

OK, I just got Fedora Core 2 installed with no problems, it sees the SATA. Yay! I still have one problem though. My computer still just boots directly to XP. How do I boot to Fedora?
