Best Linux Distro(s) for Cluster
I am getting the parts together to make a cluster, and I need help picking the right operating system, or systems, as I of course need the nodes to work well together.
Here is a breakdown of the systems that make up the cluster: 1 - CDROM Server -Pentium1 100mhz, 16mb RAM, 18 SCSI CDROM Drives 4 - Pentium 266-333mhz, 192mb Ram, 2-4gig HDD, Sound, CD, Floppy Drives 3 - Pentium 75-166mhz 32mb Ram, 1gig Hard Drive, Floppy Drive 2 - Pentium 450-550mhz, 256mb Ram 10-20gig HDD Sound, CDRW, Floppy I may be adding systems later, but anymore will have the same specs as the ones listed above. So does anyone have any suggestions for a Distro that I could install on each, and that would run well? |

Most distros like TurboLinux don't provide free Cluster servers. So you would need to use something like Beowulf to build your cluster. The link above should give you more info on it.
