is there anyway i can degrade my os from windows server 2003 to xp?

Should have posted in the 2000/XP forum.
You can stick in the XP CD, reformat the hard drive and load XP. You will, of course, lose all data that isn't backed up. I don't know of any other way to do it.

You can't go backwards unless you upgraded from XP to 2003, and even then it might not be possible.

You must understand that if you got the server software illegaly then we cannot help you as it would be against the rules of this forum.
Assuming that your server software is infact legit, all you need to do to reformat is stick your Windows XP CD in the drive, and run the XP install from the CD, as it gives you the option to wipe your drive near the beginning of the install. |

thanks for the adivce, don't worry both cd's are legit. i have a problem, on my xp cd it doesn't say anything about reformatting the hardrive. is there an other way. i'll try to get a screenshot to show you.

You could just boot the computer from the XP cd and choose to install XP. It will ask you where you want to install it and choose the partition that has the Server 2003 on it. Format the partition from there. As stated already, if there is data you don't want to lose, back it up first.
